Topic: Agile Inspired Risk Mitigation Techniques for Software Development Projects
Location: 89 Chestnut Conference Centre, 89 Chestnut Street (Bay & Dundas West), Toronto (Click here for map) St. Patrick Room, 3rd Floor.
Check www.gtislig.org for details. Session Synopsis: According to the Chaos Report, causes for failure of software development projects relate to rapid technology changes, in-flux business requirements, or failure to attack risks. To mitigate the risk of failure, project managers have always been looking for ways to control complexity, agility and high pace of software development projects.
Various parametric estimation tools (COCOMO II), Software Development Life Cycle and Project Management methodologies have been created to assist project managers in their quest to plan, execute, control and succeed. The most widely known methodologies are Waterfall, RUP, and agile (SCRUM, XP, Feature-Driven Development).
This workshop discusses software development project risks, offers overview of methodologies, details agile techniques, and concludes by suggesting effective risks responses.
