S Topic: The Generations at work: Maximizing the effectiveness of multi-generational teams in the workplace
Speaker: Marie-Helene Budworth
Topic Overview: There are enormous social differences between the generations that are currently in the workplace and those that are coming of age and entering organizations. There is no doubt that the Net generation does things a little differently. Experts have said that “if you understand the Net generation, you will understand the future.” There is a growing consensus that the workplace is about to change according to the force of new generational influences. Much like the Baby Boomers before them, the Net generation has the potential to significantly influence how we work together.
This workshop will focus on how project leaders can maximize the effectiveness of teams when a diversity of ages, skills, and values exist within the group. We will focus on developing an understanding of generational differences and then uncover strategies for harnessing the potential benefit of working with this type of diversity.
